Advocacy
Singapore Chinese Orchestra
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, video storytelling became a powerful form of encouragement and connection with the public. “The Unsung Heroes of Singapore” features SCO’s rendition of Home, which garnered honorable mentions by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and other ministers, healthcare institutions and Lianhe Zaobao and a total of over 128,000 views across Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. “It’s been a long while, we’ve missed you” pays tribute to our audience and music lovers who have supported the orchestra through the days of the circuit breaker when the shows could not go on, while consolidating its digital efforts during these unprecedented times.
Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra
The Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra is part of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, an initiative by the Ministry of Education to nurture the next generation of musicians. With a target audience aged 10 to 26 years old, promoting the orchestra’s audition signups and also its concert tour had to be done in a more relatable and engaging way through the use of informal group interview and vlog.
