Experienced in marketing and communications, she is looking for opportunities in the area of policy communications. She is adept at digital communication and content strategies for awareness and advocacy. Having worked at both agency and client sides, she has managed campaigns and events for non-profits and the commercial sector. She has also recently completed the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy's Profession Certification in Public Policy and Administration.
Over the last 5 years, Shannen has worked at non-profit and commercial sectors in the areas of marketing communications and advertising. Having been trained at both client and agency sides, she is a problem-solver and is able manage various stakeholders. She is also trained in social media analytics, and has obtained her SEO certification. She is currently spearheading digitalisation at work as part of the Digital Task Force, training and guiding colleagues to be more digital-savvy.
She is currently looking for a career transition into public policy to convey ideas better and shape the reality of our society. Besides graduating with a double major in Sociology and Marketing at the Singapore Management University, she has also recently completed the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy’s Professional Certificate in Public Policy and Administration. With added experiences in project and stakeholder management, she aspires to create utmost value in the technology sector that combines her skills, passions and interests.
Beyond the bread and butter at work, she has also initiated and managed campaigns such as the popular Human Diaries series that aims to tell the human interest stories of professional musicians; a tribute to frontline workers battling the COVID-19 pandemic with an honourable mention by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong; capturing the challenges faced by the arts industry during the circuit breaker. These projects reflect her personal interests in social causes and human interest stories, and she was able to communicate and convince various stakeholders to support these initiatives.
A lifetime ago (during pre-COVID times), she was an avid traveller and a self-professed global citizen who enjoys making friends with locals on almost every trip. Now, she takes refuge in walking, cycling, indulging in the occasional writing on Medium and Substack, and recording music covers.
